Amici Lunchfest - Too Yum.

Lu's* "The Marathon"
T*'s "Mexicana"
My "Amici" - wolfed this baby down!

I love wood fired pizza and there are only a few places that rock my world. They're Amici, Luca's in Sunninghill and sometimes Col Cachio. I'm going through a pizza phase and I just love Amici's in Hurlingham. My favorites so far are the Four Seasons (diced ham, white button mushrooms, black olives and artichokes), the “Pepperoni Chilli” (pepperoni, onion, button mushroom, garlic, chilli and cherry tomato) and today's yumminess - the “Amici” (seafood and chilli). T* has "The Mexicana" ALL the time and her comment is: “it's deliriously hot”. Yes T*, I judge you.

Last Weekend - Fun in the Sun

P* was in town!

Saturday:
Part One
I was beyond over-extended; so much to do and so little time *sigh*.
Woke up at 5:30 am as I had to drop off my cousin at the “famous braid salon” in Orange Grove at 6am (she wanted the ridiculously thin braids). Stopped by two Engens with Woolies convenience stores  for some salon grub: the first stop was for the grub, the second stop was for the disposable eating utensils *groan, what time is it again* I’d do anything for this Chicka though :-). Was back home at 7am, slept for 45 minutes, woke up – tried to sleep again but it was too damn hot. Read a magazine and eventually fell asleep until way past 11am. S***t, sh**t sh**t – the plan was to meet P* in Parkhurst at 12pm to attend the Sam Star shoe launch at Mememe! Needless to say, I did not make it to Parkhurst because my cousin called to say they’d just finished doing her hair *mehn!*: rushed off to meet her but on the way I had a brainwave, I’d give my cousin the car and I’d roll with P* for the rest of the day, uninterrupted. Ended up in Melrose where a lot of P*’s and our friends joined us for lunch. I hadn’t had breakfast so I ordered breakfast instead *looks juicy doesn’t it? Check out the picture below)*. It went downhill from there what with the multiple  orders for  The Gingerbread Man (vodka, gingerbread cordial, freshly squeezed lemon, apple juice and soda) and the Turkish Delight (vodka, rose cordial, fresh cranberry juice and Turkish delight at the bottom) cocktails *bad girls, but daaa-mn that stuff is good*.

Part Two
Left Melrose at about 6.30 pm to drop off my cousin at her friends place in Midrand – left Midrand at about 7.30 pm to make my way to Melville for a colleagues post Halloween party. Nothing scary – just a load of fun, sitting around a fire toasting marshmallows, walking up to the top garden with views of the Joburg skyline and talking Shiite. We also sang along to the neighbours music (they were also having a party and the DJ was on point for most the time) – we sang louder than their guests kwa kwa kwa! But I think the funniest is when the guests at the gathering next door started laughing, we would laugh too but even louder than them – who’s having more fun huh? How old are we again? Got home just past 2am.

Sunday
Got a text from A*: “Let’s cool off this afternoon by the pool!  Chill session at my place 3pm – let me know if you’re in”. Hell-yeah I’m in! It was so hot I could think of absolutely nothing better to do than to sit by the pool, sipping on an ice-cold drink, talking about  unimportant things and watching little A* run around.
*Relaxed smile*

P.S. how pretty is my nail polish from P*? Lurvs it!
