Smalto Youn Chong bak Paris fashion week ss2012

How cute is that little one, the curly hair, the little pout, those unapologetic tears. You have to love him. Haven't you sucked it all up and put on a brilliant smile when all you wanted to do was cry or throw things around, or lock yourself in your room and scream… and scream, or just stomp your feet and wreck some much needed havoc on a situation you thought was out of control? This little man is the ONE. No pretense, he's just keeping it real. He's only 5 years old, just let him cwy (my 3 year old niece replaces her Rs with Ws).

  1. All those people, sitting on the sides: He really does not like them. “Where the hell is my mom?”
  2. All those cameras: really now, "It's not even my birthday… sniff".
  3. The Suit:  “I said I want my shorts and flip-flops, this just reminds me of Aunty Debbie's wedding, I just caaaan't"…double sniff.
  4. The runway: "It’s too long, I told them I'd do it provided it’s on a scooter… nobody listens to meeee…" He really can’t hold his tears back now, another sniff.
  5. Holding that gorgeous model’s hand: now I really don’t know why he’s crying, I certainly wouldn’t be complaining, tears of joy maybe? :-)

How I like my men (Part 1)

Inspired by the book: “Adventures with Chocolate” by Paul A. Young.

Where to begin, where to begin…makes me want to squeal with delight. Trinitario? Forastero? You’re probably wandering what Trinitario and Forastero are?  Whatever, it all sounds so exotico (damn straight that’s exactly how I like them). Dark chocolate or milk chocolate. Both…no, dark…no, milk…Dark *pause* I need a moment. Tall, dark chocolate *give me another minute*…Aw lawd!

P.S. the last time I was practically foaming at the mouth, mad as hell that a man would wear a red shirt. I like my chocolate in a crisp white shirt or any shade of blue, black will also do. Red! Mscheeew.
Chocolate lovers unite!

The Morning After

Came back past 2 am and I was spinning, smiling a lot but reaaally spinning.
Drove past Cocoon but it was actually a blessing in disguise. Called my friend to ask where exactly they were but found myself heading home.
3am felt like I was going to be violently sick.
7am I’m writing, I need to do something… I feel like I’m going to be sick, still spinning.
7.10 am I’m drinking Coke, there is another can of Coke next to me but that was the first one, you never know how many bugs would have crawled into the first can while I slept, eeew.
FLIP, I actually need cream soda! I’m too old for this….
Wow, wow…you’ve really outdone yourself delirious! SMH *pained groan*.
I’m trying to sit still and not rock the boat, but all I can think about is why the F** am I up so early!? Huh?

I also just remember swiping my card…bless. It might end up being a VERY long month.
I remember tears and smiles…I’m really too old for this.
Joined a larger group later and I remember ‘bonding’ with few people, lots of hugs and hand holding *mortified*. Said a lot of “Wows”, not that it was the appropriate word to use, but it was clearly my word for the night…*Wow*.
I haven’t done this in years.
Just not refined.

I have to help my little sister move today and go there, there and there. I still reek of alcohol.

The Plan

It's 19h48 and I’m in bed, it is cold as hell outside and all I wanted the whole day was to get back home and chill. Should I be out having a drink with my friends? Yes, but I love my quiet Fridays.
Cozy pyjamas: check.
Plumped up pillows: check.
TV on in the background: check.
Lindt Almond: check.
Hot cup of Milo: check.

*sigh of satisfaction*

My friend, I haven’t seen her in months, has just called and funny I have been thinking about her the whole week and meaning to text ( that ugly word procrastination and waiting for that perfect time, blah blah).
So out of bed and off to dinner…

Travelling with my iPod (Part 1):

“The Prayer”
Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse – mountains, the lake, starlit skies and sinful food.

“Caruso” and “Conte Patiro”. Hot Toddy!:-)
Courchevel, powdery white snow, peace, calm, warm fires, red wine and books.

DonJuan

Wow, I really don’t know where to start.
I saw Don Juan yesterday: he was on a date.
But SERIOUSLY a red shirt on a date! * Delirious closes her eyes and ears and starts rocking on the floor – it’s too traumatic*
He’s wearing black pants and a black waistcoat – don’t get me started on waistcoats either.
The girl is laughing and looks smitten, that RED shirt, can she not see it!
It was driving me crazy, red, REALLY?

Don’t get me wrong I like red: red bags, red iPod Nanos, red Nintendo consoles… I could go on forever, red velvet macaroons…

BUT a red shirt on a guy, just stop it.

Lino Love

We just had some up and coming artists come and visit our offices to present their art pieces. We display their work in our boardrooms and the pieces are rotated every quarter. I'm crazy in love with this one piece titled "hope, happiness and faith" by Phillip Mabote. If ever there was a piece that spoke volumes, yet gave away so little at first glance it's this one. I would post it, but I'm not too sure if we're allowed to take pictures of the artwork or not. I love pencil art but lino adds dimension. The etched pieces were beautiful but Phillip's lino piece just blew me away. I wish I could show you!

Keziah: No thanks, I'm a fruitarian.
Max: I didn't realize that.
William: And, ahm: what exactly is a fruitarian?
Keziah: We believe that fruits and vegetables have feeling so we think cooking is cruel. We only eat things that have actually fallen off a tree or bush - that are, in fact, dead already.
William: Right. Right. Interesting stuff. So, these carrots...
Keziah: Have been murdered, yes. (HE HE HE HE)
William: Murdered? Poor carrots. How beastly!

Gingerbread Man: Eat me!  (LOL!)
[spits in Farquaad's face]
Lord Farquaad: I've tried to be fair to you creatures, but now my patience has reached its end! Tell me, or I'll...
[reaches down]
Gingerbread Man: NO! Not the buttons! Not my gumdrop buttons!
Lord Farquaad: All right, then! Who's hiding them?
Gingerbread Man: Okay, I'll tell you... Do you know... the Muffin Man?
Lord Farquaad: The Muffin Man?
Gingerbread Man: The Muffin Man.
Lord Farquaad: Yes, I know the Muffin Man. W-who lives down on Drury Lane?
Gingerbread Man: Well, she's married to the Muffin Man...
Lord Farquaad: The Muffin Man?
Gingerbread Man: THE MUFFIN MAN!
Lord Farquaad: She's married to the Muffin Man...
SMH laughing, it gets me every time!

7.       Troy –
Helen: You should not have come here tonight.
Paris: That's what you said last night?
Helen: Last night was a mistake.
Paris: And the night before?
Helen: I have made many mistakes this week.
AND
Priam: Do you love her, my son?
Paris: Father, you are a great king, because you love your country so much. Every blade of grass, every grain of sand, every rock in the river... You love all of Troy. That is the way I love Helen.

The correct wording is definitely courtesy of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100405/quotes.
Ask my sister about how I butcher the lyrics to even my favourite songs. It’s bad, really bad.

Silence

I’m reading two books this week; I don’t even know if I should mention the other book. Ok, ok don’t push me :-) John Grisham AND Danielle Steel*no judging allowed*. When John gets too serious I change to Danielle Steel, relying on her to transport me into another world of new love, proposals, and weddings. From Bel Air to New York, weekends in Malibu *dreamy sigh*… That Jeff, aw lawd, now that man would make me break my three year break from men *even dreamier sigh*.

Three Things

That I need to let go of this week:

b.      Worry
c.       Self Doubt
