P*’s PARIS – SEPTEMBER 2011.

So P* is planning a trip to Paris and since I’ve got an acute case of wanderlust {not forgetting my love for lists} I promised to help her plan her trip.  Paris: the city of chic, love, long walks and palate tickling food. I think fresh bread, croissants and heartwarming pastries. I think colorful macaroons, perfumes and patisseries. I suggest P* makes a long weekend of it, no shorter than 3 days. I did some desktop research and some office field research {thanks to Gabs, our office Grand Dame} and I came up with the following:

If you meet a guy called JM* ruuun. He’ll try… actually he’ll lick your ear :-)
This is a story for another day.  Okay, okay, I’ll give you a short run down. Let’s just say I met a guy called JM* and after much convincing and silly giggles from my sister I went on a date with him (he was hot; he had that Olivier Martinez swag about him). Please take note that this was a lunchtime date and the FIRST date. Anywhooo, we went out to lunch at this lovely French restaurant, it’s a beautiful sunny day, the birds are singing and the heavens are smiling, not even a single cloud. We’re seated next to each other and not opposite each other as is standard for a table for two. We order, he’s teaching me a few French phrases (I should have known not to drop the French for Drama in primary school), meliky the accent, trust me I’m smiling. First bottle of white wine gets taken from the table, we’ve finished it. The second bottle comes and halfway through he leans in… I think to whisper a sweet little nothing and *screeeech* - haaibo, haaibo! I just feel his tongue on my ear and hear a slurpy sound. Eeeeuuw. I need a moment. Let’s just say we didn’t finish the last half of the wine. I sobered up sharpish and took him to task about licking my ear. I really felt violated. He was still calling months later but there was no redeeming himself after that.  This man, God forbid!
Sies. So, P you’ve been warned.
    Madame Arthur|Cabaret and Dinner Show
This just made me think of Noemi Lenoir in the movie Rush Hour 3 with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.
    Nocturnal Paris:
    1. Curio Parlor
    2. The Prescription Cocktail Club
    3. VIP Room Theater (if not why not? Shamz gal, good luck with the purse though).
Sex and the City in Paris :
I thought you’d love this, you being Charlotte and all (ha ha ha).
Le Kong: remember this restaurant? This where Carrie met up with her Russian dude’s ex – the artist Russian dude who slapped her *& %#. Remember the ghost chairs and the building top setting? Well, do like Carrie and bring the heels, let the exes sit this one out.
Also, how about breakfast at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée Paris? This is the hotel Carrie stayed in aaaand since the room rate per night is 550 Euros (+/- R5, 294)*gulp* I’ll let you settle for the continental breakfast which is ‘only’ 38 Euros. Nice friend uh?
    Romance yourself:
    1. Sip on some French wine in a traditional French bistro {take your time reading that Marie Claire}.
    2. Have some heavenly French hot chocolate in a Parisian tearoom (Angelina’s) bring along a copy of Vogue.
    3. Go to Princess Tam-Tam’s and get yourself a sinfully feminine little number that makes you feel like royalty.
    4. Laudrée – macaroons and pastries. Or, Fauchon!
    5. Michel Chaudun – Chocolate. Full Stop.
    6. Ice-cream and a long fantasy walk along the Seine: Berthillion. P* I also know about your love affair with frozen yoghurt and you’ll be glad to know that you can get some at myberry! *Delirious feeling quite pleased with herself*
    7. Buy yourself a bottle of perfume at Annick Goutal.
    September 2011:

    Scarves
    Red Lipstick
    Pearls
    Beautiful ballerina pumps
    Classy and Fabulous

     Listening to?
    1. The sounds of Paris: Parisian chatter, restaurant noise {Parisians eat out a lot}, cutlery clinking, animated arguments, traffic va-va-vooming around you, hooting, bicycle jingles, pigeons cooing, cathedral bells. Again, courtesy of the Grand Dame Gaby :-) She even tried to slot in some aero plane noise and I was like “In Paris, really Gaby?” and she replied, with a naughty smile, “no not really”!
    2. Neyo: Part of the List
    3. Beyonce: Sweet Dreams
    4. Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, Lil Kim: Lady Marmalade
