Blues, Blooms and Bubbly.

Blues
*Delirious exhales*yesterday…where do I begin*groan*?
It all started off with me breaking my red “keep calm and carry on” titled mug - taking the “calm” and the will to “carry on” away *chuckle,  so dramatical (if there was ever a word)*.
I figured this was a sign for me to go back and buy a pink one, after all red is “red for danger” right?
I should have considered myself forewarned because after 11am I might as well have been put in front loader washing machine with the dial pointed to the ‘blanket cycle’…boy o boy…let’s just say I got spun and wrung for HOURS without reprieve *side eye to the universe*.
I eventually left work at 6:45pm when I should have left at 6pm to make it to Hyde Park on time for the Jo Malone “In Good Taste” event (in association with Food and Home Entertaining magazine). I hate being late, it’s so rude.  My +1 was SLV* but she cancelled on me at about 5pm *Delirious sticks her tongue out at SLV* but I managed to ‘convince’ Lu* to ditch the Fourways traffic and join me instead”-)

Blooms and Bubbly
*Beaming smile* this event more than compensated for the day I had.
I was so frazzled when I walked into the Centre. However, all that quickly melted away when I saw the smiling and relaxed group inside the Jo Malone store.
Lu* and I were welcomed by Food and Home’s delightful Leila and within seconds, Cape Wine Master, Heidi Duminy had walked up to us with two glasses of the finest fizz. Throughout the course of the evening, Heidi Duminy proceeded to introduce us to three types of Taittinger Champagnes while the lovely Jo Malone team talked us through our favoured selection of their field of blooms.
If I had to make my own bouquet out of the full field of blooms, I’d choose the following:
  1. Dark Amber and Ginger Lily (did anybody say Ginger? SOLD! Reminded me a bit of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid.) I think it’s perfect for winter and date nights (heavy, spicy and seductive).
  2. Rosewater and Vanilla (Love at first smell, there’s something very exotic yet girly about this perfume).
  3. Pomegranate Noir (fruity, refreshing and perked me up).

The cherry on top:
Being treated to a 10 minute sensory hand and arm massage (at the tasting bar) by the Jo Malone team. Did anybody say r-e-l-a-x? I particularly enjoyed my chat with Hannah from Jo Malone, who’s a fellow Cancerian and had me feeling like I was talking to my twin ;-)
Even so, I did wonder why it was called the tasting bar vs. the testing bar *waiting for the bell to ring*…tick tock…the bell finally rung when I smelt my arms following the layered scent massage: I smelt good enough to eat. Keep your brothers away or it’s a wrap, the poor souls won’t be able to resist.
