The Weekend

Had a laid-back but fun weekend.

SATURDAY

Didn’t do much, except lie in bed all morning and read. We were supposed to go to the Neighbourhood Goods Market but the weather wasn’t being supportive of our relaxed Saturday out in Braamies. B* was quite eager to go (“story today? Postponed or not?”). But I just couldn’t drag myself out of bed. Plus, it was 12pm by the time she checked in and the market closes at 3pm (leaving us with only 1, 30 minutes to maximize).  So, we’ve postponed our market day to the weekend of the 15th.  A* can’t make next week (Oct, 08) and we promised not to cheat on her :-)

B*, then suggested we meet later to watch DVD’s, munch on popcorn, gorge ourselves on cake and sip on wine. She had me at DVD’s. In view of the jolly time ahead, I trekked over to B*’s house at about 7pm.
We didn’t quite get down to watching the DVD’s but we did yak though our own little “mini-movies”, I like the route B*’s movie is taking ;-), and sipped (more like imbibed) on some nice and frosty Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé. I haven’t had Rosé in years but I can see this off dry pink delight becoming a regular in my shopping basket.

Once we were thoroughly roasted, we dug through B*’s DVD collection and hauled out Grey’s Anatomy Season 3 episode 25 – Dr Burke’s vows (I am sure, I am steady and I know), which we proceeded to watch and re-watch. Such wine romantics we are :-) At the end of the night (waaay past midnight) we were too sure of ourselves, totally unsteady and we knew it all, hic.
Couch night’s rock.

Whilst at B*’s BLZ* texted: “have been invited to ZAR are you keen?” Apparently there was a Nigerian Independence Day celebration night and I was like uh~? uh? ~uh? Would be nice to go out? But do I really want to? Plus, me no likey ZAR…so I ultimately decided not to go, B*s couch was too comfortable. It also started raining–Noah’s ark kinda stuff so that helped seal the ‘couch deal’ even further.

SUNDAY

Got my church times mixed up and ended up going back home. I didn’t want to sit around in the parking lot, like a certified heathen, waiting for the next service to start*sigh* - I should keep the notice sheets.
Went to visit my sister, found her friends there as well, chilled for most of the morning listening to their hilarious stories about their day out (Saturday) which took a very interesting but fun turn. Left at about 2:30 pm to join BLZ* for la dolce vita at The Saxon.
